How to Match Custom Logo Mat Colors

The primary tool to match custom logo mat colors is the Pantone Matching System (PMS). This color system has a formula guide with color number reference. Each solid color has a number. This formula number guide was developed back in the early '60s as a mixing system which made it easier for printing companies to provide a consistent color.

Today, Pantone has become the standard for color identification. There are over 1,300 plus solid colors. If a designer specifies your Company Logo colors, you should reference the color numbers so our Art Department can match the color as closely as possible. Occasionally there is some confusion over color tones because the Pantone Matching System uses inks and pigments, while computer monitors reproduce colors using Blue, Red and Green light.

Review the following color chart. This will assist you in the selection of colors for your custom PMS color mats. These colors displayed may not exactly match the PMS color standard, but will be very close.
